MATERIAL / ARC–15 RESOURCE CIRCULATION DISTRICT

Build the next city from lunar resources.
Broken parts become an urban mine.

Lunar soil cannot become a finished home without work. It must be separated, melted, tested and turned into glass, metal and ceramics. Used machines return as another source of material for the growing city.

A lunar mine exists not only on the surface, but in warehouses, demolition sites and retired machines.

Regolith takes a long route to become architecture.

Regolith is sorted by grain and composition. Oxygen is extracted; remaining minerals become glass, ceramics and metals. Each source behaves differently, so its material character is recorded before printing.

Rock and lunar materials form shielding, while a separate pressure shell creates the surface people touch. Printing a home from lunar soil never means using one material for everything.

02

A printer does not make the whole city at once.

Printers produce wall elements, pipe supports, floors and replaceable connections. Small inspectable parts are preferred to a giant monolith. Construction robots spend as much time measuring and recording as depositing material.

Standard parts retain space for future cables, pipes and devices that do not exist yet. Refusing to finish every gap is part of building for a century.

03

Waste carries a material résumé.

A recovered machine has a material passport: alloys, polymers, adhesives and service history. Safe pieces return as parts; others move to melting or chemical separation. Circulation begins by avoiding anonymous mixtures.

The goal is not to make everything on the Moon. Electronics and medical materials still arrive from the wider Earth system. Local industry instead makes heavy, bulky, repeated items and saves transport for what truly needs it.
